Hurry up and die!

I read a not so well known fact that if you place a toad in boiling water it will jump out. But if you put the same toad in a pot and slowly heat the water to a boil it will stay till it burns up. The world is like that, I was studying hurry this week and it seems that more often than not we are in a rush to get through something and suffer from Hurry Sickness.

Don't think you suffer from Hurry Sickness? Answer yes to any of these questions and you do.
1. Find yourself coming to a red light and studying the cars in front of you to choose a lane that will be the fastest based off of the color make and driver of the cars ahead?
2. In the grocery store you try to pick the line that will go the fastest by the number of people and the number of items each has? Then you mark the person where you would have been and you see if you choose right?
3. When people are talking to slowly you find yourself finishing their sentences? Maybe even verbally!

I think you get the picture here, Paul said "Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold."
It makes me ask myself, "What are we in such a hurry for?" We hurry to work, we hurry to lunch, we hurry to get done with work, we hurry to get home, we hurry to eat dinner, we hurry to get to bed, we hurry till we are dead? I think we need to stop unplug and hurry less! If we look to Jesus he said, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while." Stopping the hurry isn't easy, but I believe for many of us we put hurry in a place the Lord has reserved for Him, Joy and Family. Because society applauds busy and hurry we feel justified. Obviously this is just as much for me as you!
Bless
Abe

Guilty...guilty...guilty! What a great question to ask yourself throughout the day! I bet in doing so, we'll see so many more wonderful things God has created!
