An Alien Lands New Years Eve

After watching the video below I thought to myself imagine an Alien from another planet landing and watching this Pop Culture year in review. What impression would they have on our culture? Who we are? What is important to us as a people of Earth?
This is what I came up with:
1. Sex
2. Sex
3. And More Sex
4. Extravagance
5. Self Importance
6. You can have whatever you like if you ask for it.

Watch the video below and let me know what I missed here...

If the Nano was not enough for you...

My New Laptop...Post-Consumerism Withdrawls and other muse...

So, this past month I sold my 17" Powerbook G4 and I have to say even though I had a few issues it served me well. It was definitely hard to let go after four years. So, I down sized to a 13" Black Macbook and I do love it. Even though it is smaller it actually is easier to handle and the screen size really does not bother me as much as I thought it would.

In that line of thougth I figured maybe I could have gone even smaller?

What do you think? Nano?

Growing Up Together

While I could have put many pictures up there I choose this one mainly because it reminds me of my boys, and then it reminds me of my brothers growing. Mostly it reminds me that in life we are all growing up with each other, through our different seasons of life. Some we are close to no matter how far the distance, others we lived next door to and couldn't have been further apart. Few things are more important in life than family and friends, and in both areas I am truly blessed. If you are my family or my friend I just wanted to tell you, Thank you and I love you!

Magnifed Cold!

Moving from Florida has been interesting getting use to the culture is one thing, getting use to the cold is another. I forgot the effects associated with cold, cabin fever, dry skin, shivering, and the inability to go to the beach. That aside there are some benefits, hot cocoa, fireplaces, cuddling, and the inability to go to the beach. Above is a picture of a single blade of grass with frost on it magnifide, what do you miss or like about the cold?

What? I thought Festivus was a great new holiday?

This is an excerpt from today's Wall Street Journal:

Late next month, atheists, humanists, freethinkers, secularists -- in short, nonbelievers of every description -- will gather in dozens of cities to mark the holiday they call HumanLight.

Whether by singing from a Humanist Hymnal, decorating a winter wreath or lighting candles dedicated to personal heroes, they'll celebrate what has been an exhilarating ride for the faithless -- a surge in recognition that has many convinced they're on the brink of making a mark on mainstream America.
During the past three years, membership has grown in local and national associations of nonbelievers. Books attacking faith as a delusion shot up best-seller lists. For the first time, the faithless even raised enough funds to hire a congressional lobbyist.

Building on that momentum, nonbelievers have begun a very public campaign to win broad acceptance. On billboards and bus ads, radio commercials and the Internet, atheists are coming forward to declare, quite simply: We're here. And we're just like you.

There go I, but for the grace of God! I don't know about you, but it seems like a lot of work to prove something they believe true to others. Actually, as I read the article my heart hurt for them. If I was not certain there was a God and he loves them and wants to have a relationship not a religion with them, I probably would say good for them.

The truth is it is my experience that in life there is always a natural cause and effect. Most Humanists/Atheists I have gotten to know have been hurt by organized religion and as a result run from the religion and leave God with it. I think it is sad that in a day of such information and communication, deceit of self and each other has become the norm. It can be factually proven that with regard to Jesus and the Bible there are no coincidences, but facts. So, what now? How do we the 71% of the country that believe in God react to this new movement of humanism or humans as God? I pray for the lost that they would find truth for themselves. Your thoughts?

Why I want to work at GOOGLE!

OK, so Google moved into a new building cause they did not have enough stuff to play with in there old building. Well the cafeteria stayed in the old building and the only way for them to get the old campus building for grub was to go across a creek. So, most companies would opt for a sidewalk and bridge. Not Google, they build a zip-line. Yeah they built a zip-line and until the City got wind of it, they zipped back and forth to get their grub! The moral to this story is when imaginations run wild and resources are not a factor there is no possibility as to what can be done! Leave the box and there is no telling what you can accomplish.
