I can ride my bike with no handlebars!
I love technology. My wife has said forever that we needed a way to send a text without having to type it! Well today is here. I have just tried Jott for the first time and it is now a new speed dial number for me! Set up is awesome to cause you can upload your contacts from Entourage or Outlook by pulling your csv files. Smart! Also, you can use Jott to send e-mail and post on your blog with out touching a keyboard. I love it!

The real reason we are leaving Fla, moving to higher ground!

PLANT CITY - The setting could hardly be more surreal.
On one side of Branch Forbes Road at Interstate 4 sits a full-size dinosaur replica advertising a theme park. On the other, there's a building that looks like Noah's ark - with a large deck attached.
The arklike building across from Dinosaur World has been attracting the attention of passing motorists since construction started last year. It's not clear what kind of a business the building will house once construction is done. For that matter, it's not clear when work will wrap up.
The owner, George Hansen of New York City, said in a brief interview that he originally planned it as a war memorial. "But there are a lot of unanswered questions and I'm just not ready to discuss the project at this time," he said.
The building wasn't modeled after the biblical ark, even though the resemblance is striking. Even Hansen's designer said he's heard it called that.
"People call it the ark, for obvious reasons," said Edrahim Mehrani, owner of DCI Solutions in Lutz. "But we are not sure what the final use will be. The building is up for lease, and the tenant will make the final decision."
A banner draped on the building offers the property for lease as a restaurant. The deck would accommodate outdoor dining, Mehrani said.
Three more buildings are planned for the 8.7-acre site, including one that will display works of art and another where movies of historical events will be shown, he said.
Hansen first proposed a "war memorial gift shop" on the land in late 1997, according to Hillsborough County building department records.
The county's planning and zoning division said the owner changed the intended use of the two-story, 100-foot long building to a golf gift shop in 2003.
Marlene Svensson, manager of Dinosaur World, said the construction on the opposite side of Branch Forbes Road has her guests asking questions.
"Every day a visitor to our park will ask about it," Svensson said.
She's heard it will be a restaurant, but she hasn't heard when work might be completed. "The sooner the better, as far as we are concerned."

The low down...

So, I know none of your care except Betsy so here is the low down Bets! I am going to leave my employment as a Territory Manager and move into a position as CFO for Faith and Victory Church. The title is deceiving though because it will entail a ton more than finance. The Church is about to go through some changes which I am not at liberty to discuss at this time, lets just say God is moving in a big way! We are really excited to be blessed to be part of an amazing Ministry.
TODAY IS THE DAY!

Faith like the Devil

Anyone can say they believe in God.
I believe in diets! Does not mean I am gonna loose any weight until I start to follow one by eating as it says.
Until words line up with action it is stagnant.
There must be some sort of movement for God in order to see our faith grow. All the talking, reading and speaking in the world will never grow your faith in God like doing something. The Devil has a great deal of faith in God cause he is doing everything in his power to defeat Him. The more the Devil fights and is defeated by God the more his belief grows that God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will Do. What should I do then you ask? Well for some it is as simple as going to church, for others it is serving or giving to someone else, and for others it may be leaving their family and going on a mission trip. It is all relative to where you are in your walk with God. Bottom line is to get moving, do something! The more you move for God the closer you get to Him and the greater your faith grows.
I don't want the Devil to beat me at anything including my level of faith in God!

What is this?

A antenna for my car lighter/power plug?
Signal booster for my radio?
Satellite antenna?
Adapter to play Wii in the car?
No, this is for all you conspiracy theorists and super heros who need to get off the grid for a while. It is a GPS scrambler that when plugged in to you lighter/power plug scrambles all GPS signals for about 5 meters, perfect for when you are trying to shake those mysterious black helicopters the government has following us. What, you don't see them too?
The other use I thought about would be to have some fun following tourists using the GPS in their rentals! I know I am twisted!

You can't stop the digital advancements!
The World of Graphic Design is about to be turned on its head!
Times Change, Tactics Change

Begging, panhandling and asking for money is as old as time itself. Being someone who drives 800-1000 miles in town a week I see a ton of crazy stuff.
This happened to me and I had seen it before, but with gas prices skyrocketing I suspect we will see it more and more. You pull up to pump and put in your credit/debit card and start pumping. The beggar approaches you with a gas can and explains they ran out of gas and need enough to get home. Now it is hard to say no cause hey you are already filling your car and what is a little extra? Well when gas was $2 a gallon you could fill a gas can for $4, now a can could cost up to $20 depending how big it is.
What do they do with this gas? I imagine they sell it at a discount, the way to tell is to watch and see if the beggar looks at the pump to see how much you gave them or if they have the can marked by gallon.
I have to say my attitude on this is still to give, even though they may not be genuine in their intentions. I know God will honor my giving irregardless. Anyway, I just see this as a growing trend and wanted to give you all a heads up, cause the first time it happens to you it catches you off guard.

If only I could find $.50 I could get him!
I have a customer that has a crane machine which does not have kids, but live lobsters. It costs $2 for 30 seconds and suffice it to say I have witnessed a couple hundred dollars go into the machine and no lobsters coming out. I asked the owner how much he makes off of it and he says he averages about $750-1000 a week! Sick...

Hexcavation?
Close your eyes and imagine going into work and seeing a co worker wearing their blue College sports shorts under their clothes. Better yet what if another brushes his teeth and chews black licorice every hour. While another eats only chicken the day of a big presentation, and then draws a symbol that means “To Life” on their desk before every meeting. How about playing with dirt and talking to them self? Making sure to step on each step with both feet?
Alright, so you can't close your eyes and read this, but you would be off if you thought any of the above behavior was normal. Yet, in baseball these are some common actions for the professional player. Can you guess who does what above? Does not matter cause it seems the whole sport has gone to the nut house!
Well apparently some fan of Boston buried a David Ortiz jersey during construction at the new stadium. Now this was buried under a few tons of dirt then concrete and was just a claim by a zealous Boston fan. There was no proof besides the fan's word. Well in order to reverse this curse and with the help of some construction workers, the Yankees unearthed this curse to the tune of $50K. A grand 'Hex'cavation indeed! I could just imagine Ford spending $50K to remove a Chevy emblem under one of it's plants? NOT! Read The Full Story Here

Why is it so acceptable to behave this way in sports and no other profession?
Is is just me or does it seem off?

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUNDAY!

For the past two years I have been blessed to be part of a an awesome new start up Church in Tampa. Being new and having the need for help every weekend I did nothing else all the while there were churches I wanted to visit.
Well in recent weeks we were able to get some time off from the volunteer schedule to visit different Churches in the community.
This last Sunday Rachel had to work and I took the boys to a very large not to be named Church I have wanted to attend.
The reason I share this is two fold: First is the humor side and Second is the educational side.
Now for the Humor:
I have attended quite a few Churches over the years. From Joel Osteen's Lakewood with 57,000 members to a south Georgia Baptist Church of about 20 members. That said I have become very comfortable going to any type or size Church.
Sunday that all changed, you see like I said I have been blessed to go to a Church that was rather laid back in many areas. I felt something out of place as I walked up to the Building, but I really could not figure it out till I got to the door and the Suits 'uh hum' greeted me? I realized at that moment that as with some careers out there, some Churches still exist which get dressed in something other than SHORTS! Yes, I was in a building with a few thousand men ALL in suits and ties.
Turns out it was I which was what was out of place as the ONLY one wearing shorts. Of course they weren't dress shorts either, you know the American Eagle Cargo type. Suffice it to say I was a little less than comfortable. Although I just kept on trucking cause hey I was just visiting, how bad could it be?
Now for the educational:
As I entered the massive atrium area sticking out like a sore thumb I searched desperately for a sign, an arrow, lights or anything to show me what I was to do with my children. I thought for a moment of bringing them in service, but that would probably make me stick out even worse than I already did. So, I turned back toward the entrance and found a counter with an official looking woman standing at it talking to three of her friends. I asked her if she knew where I was supposed to take my children. She turned back and asked another official looking lady to take me to the children's ministry. As I followed this woman she made comment to me that she "thought it was upstairs, but was not certain?" I said to her she obviously did not have kids and she humored me saying yes that was true. This woman as the first one had on name tags which I could not read so I couldn't get any official title.
Upon filling out a form the length of a tax return and confessing "I'm a faithful follower of Brother John Birch(this is for all of you born before 1970)" I followed another lady who was cordial, but made it a point to stop to hug and talk to everyone we passed. Upon dropping the boys off and the half mile walk back we got no directions as to how to get to the sanctuary. Jared and I saw two ushers standing in a hallway. I approached feeling the glare of the men at my naked shins and asked if we could enter the sanctuary through the opening they were standing in front of, the response was "of course loser(OK, I put the gratuitous use of loser in)?" Now the rest of the service was good and I quite honestly could not wait to get out of there and put on a suit! Alright maybe not.
The main problem that was exemplified here that I have seen over and over is not so much how I was treated cause that could be deemed subjective on my part. The thing which I feel isn't so much subjective is my being a visitor and sticking out like Yao Ming in a pygmy village.
You see one of the things Churches miss in teaching their volunteers how to effectively volunteer is one of the most important job requirements. This should be how to identify visitors, make them feel welcome and help them. This as Ford would say is job number one! Top Priority, cause truth be told I could not tell you what songs we sang, how fancy the light show was or what versus were quoted.
But, I can tell you the local Churches that make me feel like top priority when I go and which I would be comfortable returning to.
I hope someone gets something from my experience, I know I sure did! I have burned all my shorts, J/K!
Seeker Sensitive?
I hate this term!
It is so over played and miss used in Church.
First off, all Churches are looking to increase their populous, what church would say no we don't want anymore members?
Second, it is not "Seeker Sensitive" it is really "Worldly Sensitive." Because as the goal of "Seeker Sensitive" is to make the world comfortable in a relative environment to the current culture.
I will get off the soap box now, thanks for listening!

A walk in the park(I mean zoo)!
Proud Poppa
Jared is growing way to fast!

That said he had his District Track Event on Wednesday. He did really well beating his personal record for the two mile with a 11:10. This is a 5 minute 55 second mile. He also was the only freshman not to get lapped, which again was another first.

Suffice it to say a prouder father I could not be! Even though I had nothing to do with his speed, seeing as I am at about a 10 minute mile!

Husband jumps on croc's back to save wife
April 3, 2008 - 12:32PM
A woman has escaped with bite wounds after her husband rescued her from the jaws of a crocodile while they were swimming in a Northern Territory national park.
The 2.5 metre saltwater crocodile was trying to drag the 36-year-old woman underwater at Litchfield National Park yesterday when her husband jumped on the reptile's back and wrestled her free, police said.
"The animal released the woman and swam into a concrete culvert," police said.
The woman was taken to Woolaning community for first aid treatment for eight puncture wounds in her right thigh, a puncture wound in her left thigh and a severe cut to one of her fingers.
She was last night transferred to the Royal Darwin Hospital and a spokeswoman today said she was in a stable condition.
The woman was attacked about 5.30pm (CST) yesterday while wading in water only 1.5 metres deep at the Bamboo Creek Crossing at Litchfield, a national park popular with tourists and about 160 kilometres south-west of Darwin.
The crossing is not a designated swimming area.
Ranger Luke Playford said it was the first crocodile attack in the Litchfield National Park, which is regularly trawled for the reptiles.
"The water is only 1.5 metres deep where the crocodile attacked the woman - which highlights that at this time of the year, following the wet season rains, saltwater crocodiles can find their way into rivers and creeks where they are not normally found," he said.
Mr Playford said it was an "opportunistic attack" and that parks and wildlife would today survey designated swimming areas and set traps for any crocodiles.
Car Thief Gets Locked In Car... Before police arrive he cuffs himself!
Police: Waterloo man locked in car he tried to steal
WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) A Waterloo man has been charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a truck and getting locked inside.
Cash Burch, 24, was arrested Wednesday after the owner of a Ford Explorer found him inside his vehicle and called police.
The owner, Mark Laures, says Burch could not get out because the Explorer has an anti-theft device that activates when the battery loses power. Laures says Burch wore down the battery trying to start the Explorer and became locked inside.
Burch damaged the dashboard trying to escape but was still inside the truck when officers arrived. Police opened the door from the outside and charged him with third-degree burglary.

My Barista Makes Me Feel Like A Nawty Boy ;-)
Change my picture...

I am in the car this morning and on my way to Starbucks for the morning Ice Venti Americano and I catch myself jamming out to a song that I stinkin love. Anyway, just as the song is about over I realize there is a word in it that is not very nice(No the kids were not in the car). It just ticks me off that there can be songs that are sooooooo gewd, that have not nice words. It is not fair! I wish that my stereo had a button that I could switch on that would beep out any not nice words. If anyone knows of such a button it would be appreciated?
P.S. Free Starbucks to anyone who can guess the song!

In an instant...

Last Monday I was pulling up to a light and one minute I was on the phone the next I was being propelled forward like an bug smashing into a windscreen. You see how relatively fragile your existence is when you are in an accident. I have been in quite a few and this one has equally disrupted my life.
I was out of work for a week and that week was a blur, probably the pain killers, Ha!
The interesting thing is how much accidents have become part of our life. Everyone was so natural in such an unnatural environment. It is bizarre how much the doctors and insurance adjusters are just running threw the motions, because they deal with this all day every day.
It is kind of like this with Church.
You go every weekend and do it day in and day out, week after week, year after year, you tend to take for granted how unnatural it is for someone who does not go. That maybe why we are seeing more and more the Church that is naturally comfortable to walk into and go through a service in sees such growth?

Things I hate...
Not in any particular order:
1. Trucks that drop crap on me, they crack my window and are annoying.
2. Fighting with my wife, even if I win I lose.
3. Ignorance, I know this is general but there are just to many areas to cover and I don't want to contradict number four.
4. Real long blog posts, if you are posting more than two paragraphs send me a letter nothing could be that long and that impersonal.
5. People who ride my butt in traffic, even though they can clearly see I can't go any faster cause I am moving with traffic.
6. Grateful Dead, they didn't know Jesus so I am pretty sure they are not really grateful dead.
7. Baseball's illegal steroid investigation, I really don't think it is such a priority that our government spend millions to figure out whether a retired baseball player used. Feed some hungry people or shelter some homeless with it.
8. I could go on forever but this will be my last, cussing, it is so not necessary except when you hit your thumb with a hammer.

The Oscars are to my wife the Super Bowl to me and while I don't have much to look forward to in watching them I look for the humor in it. Like this clip of Gary Busey creeping out Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Gardner, if only Ben where there then it truly would have got interesting!

That sort of sky...

You know the kind that when you look at it you are reminded by God that He is still watching out for you, that He loves you no matter how many times you have hurt Him, that even though you feel like giving up He has Hope for you in the next rising sun, that no matter how many times man will let you down or hurt you He will stay true.

Doubt, Pain, Fear, Hurt, Betrayl, Anger, Hysteria, Insanity, Greed, Idolitry, Abuse...
These are all words defining life for many people on a daily basis.
None will know peace without knowing God.
When you read the words in the title you can't help relate in some way to how life happens. In an instance something just happens and a word and feeling such as fear comes upon you.
Knowing God does not change the situation. Many people find God believing it will. Truth is knowing God helps you get through the situation. No more no less. I read a blog called Post Secret where people send in post cards with secrets they want to reveal that they are either to scared or to ashamed to reveal otherwise. It can be a real eye opening read as to what some of the world is feeling.
The reason I write this is for awareness.
John 15:12-13 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
We often times see the words in the title and think, "Oh that is what the Church is here for or that is why we have counseling or that is what the Employee Assistance Program is for." Not to down play any of them, the reality is I believe WE are the answer. Reaching out to those who need it. Giving comfort and peace a hug or an offering or just listening to someone is how God will relate to them through us.
No greater love than what Christ did for you striving to repay it and know you never will is living a life full of God. The rest is up to us.
Strive to care...

1 Peter 3:15
15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
I love this verse, God spells it out plain and simple without a thee or thou in site. Have the love or God in your heart and be ready to tell others how He has impacted your life, but do it gently and respectfully. That is awesome, how can you not love a God that makes it so relevant?
Love others, Love life and share it!

MY SCARLET
This is my scarlet if you have ever seen "Gone With The With Wind" then you know what I am talking about. This is my love, my hope, my strength and my passion! I am lost with her and even more lost without her. She asks me why and I sit speechless like a dumb mute. Truth is I love her for who she is and who she motivates me to be not what she looks like(even though I think she is gorgeous!). I just can't get her to believe me!

Well frankly my scarlet "I don't give a damn." I LOVE YOU!

Why Why Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the National Enquirer reported on July 28th about Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, lawyer’s for the Nickelodeon star threatened legal action against the publication.
Now, a source at the Enquirer has leaked us the letter Jamie Lynn’s lawyers sent them at the time.
“Ms. Spears is a devout Christian with a spotless reputation, who lives in accordance with the highest moral and ethical standards in accordance with her faith.
There is no “rumor” concerning Ms. Spears’ (non-existent) pregnancy, except perhaps for the baseless “rumor” just now being created by the National Enquirer.
Ms. Spears is not pregnant. It is pathetic for the National Enquirer to attempt to create a wholly baseless “rumor” that Ms. Spears is pregnant, so it can run a malicious story and false story which would be emotionally devastating to a morally upright 16 year old girl.”
This really pisses me off!!!!!! Not the fact that she has made a mistake.
THE FACT THAT THE NATIONAL ENQUIRERS PUBLICIST WOULD HAVE TO BRING CHRIST INTO THIS AS A CHARACTER REFERENCE WHERE ONE IS DEFINITELY NEEDED ONLY CHRIST IS NOT HERE TO SPEAK ON HER BEHALF. That would be like me running for president and saying I am a devout "Reaganite and live in accordance with the stickiest Reaganomics!" Wait, they are doing that too!
Character is not what you say or anyone says for you, it is what you do when no one is looking. The only problem is, it is kind of hard to tell someones character if no one is looking!
I knew it! Maybe?

I have kept quiet about the Ron Paul campaign for a while, because I didn’t see any need to say anything that would cause any trouble. However, reading the latest release from his campaign spokesman, I am compelled to tell the truth about Ron Paul’s extensive involvement in white nationalism.
Both Congressman Paul and his aides regularly meet with members of the Stormfront set, American Renaissance, the Institute for Historic Review, and others at the Tara Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, usually on Wednesdays. This is part of a dinner that was originally organized by Pat Buchanan, Sam Francis and Joe Sobran, and has since been mostly taken over by the Council of Conservative Citizens.
I have attended these dinners, seen Paul and his aides there, and been invited to his offices in Washington to discuss policy.
For his spokesman to call white racialism a “small ideology” and claim white activists are “wasting their money” trying to influence Paul is ridiculous. Paul is a white nationalist of the Stormfront type who has always kept his racial views and his views about world Judaism quiet because of his political position.
I don’t know that it is necessarily good for Paul to “expose” this. However, he really is someone with extensive ties to white nationalism and for him to deny that in the belief he will be more respectable by denying it is outrageous — and I hate seeing people in the press who denounce racialism merely because they think it is not fashionable.

Thanks to all the respondents on my post about Fireworks. I spoke to a local and found that they sell just as many fireworks for New Years Eve. Coming from a climate which would not be hospitable to such endeavors I could not put the two together. Got it now! Can't wait till the 31st to see how many drunk people kissing catch themselves on fire!

Someone PLEASE?????????????????

Explain this to me!
OK, Independence Day/Fourth of July we have these stands go up that sell fireworks. I understand that, makes perfect sense.
Now why is it that for Christmas all these stands are opened selling fireworks?
Is is like a tradition I missed to light off fireworks to celebrate baby Jesus birth?
I have this strange vision of mangers, fireworks and overalls.
If you can shed some light on this I would really appreciate it!
Thank you...

Player in Attack on Kerrigan Dies at 40
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Brian Sean Griffith, a former bodyguard to figure skater Tonya Harding who admitted a role in the attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan during Olympics tryouts, has died. He was 40.
Griffith died Wednesday of what his doctor reported as natural causes, according to the Washington County medical examiner's office. The specific cause of death is expected to be listed when the doctor files a death certificate, which could take two weeks, the medical examiner's office said.
Formerly Shawn Eckardt, Griffith had changed his name since the attack in an attempt to put it behind him.
Griffith, of Beaverton, was Harding's bodyguard when the Portland-born skater competed for a spot on the U.S. Olympic figure skating team in 1994.
That January, an assailant clubbed Kerrigan in the knee, forcing her out of the competition. The International Committee of the U.S. Figure Skating Association granted Kerrigan a spot anyway, and she recovered in time to win a silver medal at the Olympics.
Days after the attack, Griffith confessed, detailing a plan that he and Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, had hatched. The investigation also eventually netted convictions of Shane Stant, the actual attacker, and Stant's uncle, Derrick Smith, who drove the getaway car.
Kind of makes you wonder huh?

Broken Hearted
With the announcement of the Mitchell Report today I have to say I was broken hearted. Not because I am a huge baseball fan, I do like baseball, but I am not a "Huge" fan. My son Jackson on the other hand is a "Huge" baseball fan and will sit and "hold it" an entire game just to see every pitch and every swing. Now I have to "Try" and explain to a ten year old what performance enhancement(we wouldn't want to call it something lurid like illegal drug abuse) means? What HGH is? Come on if that isn't shameful enough then I have to explain why Barry Bonds is in court?
Two Words:
This sucks!

A "GEWD" Friend

This is Jeff, he is a great friend and more!
What makes Jeff a great friend is that he is the type of guy who just out of the blue will call you and say "Hey man how are ya? Just thinking about you and wanted to see how you are doin?"
Now that is cool in it of itself, but better yet is that he has this sixth sense to call when you need it most.
The best thing about Jeff is he does not have all the answers, but he does inspire you to be a better person and work to find the answer yourself.
He truly is a great guy and I am so proud to call him friend. I just wish I could do that more often and in person.
Thanks, Love ya bro!

The God of Christmas
Ah Christmas the time of year where feelings can't be more skewed you are either so filled with joy right now you can't stand it or you are ready to pull out an Uzi and tear up the town. Either way God is still in charge and the enemy is still trying to make you feel like God has left the building with Elvis. Truth is they are both singing Jingle Bells together and sipping on some of the sweetest Egg Nog. Life is to short to sweat it, So enjoy what you have and make the most of it. Remember the way you love others is the way you love God, don't forget the one with the best Christmas lights on their house wins! Merry Christmas!!!!!!
